There are 26 000 rivers on the territory of Georgia. Around 300 rivers are significant in terms of energy production; their total potential capacity equals to 15000 MW, while the average annual production equals to 50 bln KWh. According different estimations only 8-10% of this potential is harnessed.

The value of this “green” renewable hydropower potential is rising daily under the condition of the current world energy crisis and global warming.

“Georgian Hydro Power” Ltd (GHP) was founded in 2001 for dealing with hydropower development in Georgia. GHP has united specialists who have vast experience in study and designing of hydro technical construction developments on rivers and hydro-power plants.
